The weather put fear in the group
Crookhaven missed out
Because of the doubt
We’d get there in time for fish soup

We had tea in Durrus like fools
As storm Hector left rain in great pools
Seven miles at a pace
To Arundels’ disgrace
No food ‘cause of Half-Day rules

But Derek did not face the crunch
In the car and not with the bunch
No oarsmen were seen
Around Skibbereen
But he’d had his Fish Chowder for lunch
