When I wake up, I have to shake up
The planes have been going all night long
And when I go out, sure there’s no doubt
I’m gonna be the first to get along
It’s sure blowing, but still showing
Sunny views from Barnbougle ridge
Then I haver, ‘cos I’ve no waiver
The only way to Fife is ‘cross that bridge
The Thane of Fife, he had a wife
Who fuelled ignoble ambition
But going straight to the top, you’re sure of a drop
So going the long way’s my mission
Stop at Kinghorn at the end of morn
I hear fish & chips are just great
We blather away, could be here all day
But for food it’s a rather long wait
When I go I soon think back
To my time in Silvester
It was fun in a six-pack
For a few great semesters
I look at the ocean
Trying hard to say when
With all the commotion
Will I come here again
Girvan no more
Saltcoats no more
Irvine no more
Now Methil no more
